Piyush Poddar is the winner of the LHPU Yellow Jersey for the Pontiac gasoline class. Piyush has been persistent this week in achieving the required result every day. He would go around checking in with the other teams to troubleshoot any mistakes in his model, as well as sit down with the TA’s to understand and clarify the concepts taught each day. He ensured his team stayed ahead throughout the week and helped his teammates whenever they were behind. Congratulations Piyush!
Piyush Poddar graduated with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo. His passion for engineering took root when he stumbled across a memory card and wondered how a miniature card could hold such enormous amounts of data. His curiosity of developing circuits, combined with programming them in Embedded C led him to the path of his graduate studies. With love for cars he decided to explore the automotive industry to find a harmony between hardware and software.
During his final semester Piyush worked as a Hardware Design Intern at Esensors. He gathered knowledge in board level hardware design using Microchip PIC microcontrollers and programmed a wireless microchip based development board in Embedded C.
Apart from academics Piyush has been involved in University activities. He was a part of the Electronics Engineers’ Student council where he was a part of a team to organize a couple of fun events for college fest. Coming from an artistic background Piyush also has interest in drawing. He loves to travel and meet new people.
