Jayakrishna Ankam (Jay) is the winner of the LHPU Yellow Jersey for the Pontiac gasoline class. During the MotoHawk/Simulink week of training, he grabbed the attention of the LHPU trainer, Mike Gallagher, by actively learning new concepts. He is also a dependable teammate and is a great resource to his teammates. He helped them understand how to design and analyze their model.
Jayakrishna Ankam is avid learner and his nature of solving problems made it an immediate career objective to pursue in Mechanical Engineering followed by a research oriented career in Automotive industry.
Jayakrishna Ankam completed his Master’s from University of Michigan and Bachelor’s from Kakatiya University in Mechanical Engineering. During graduate course study, he had achieved 1st, 2nd and 4th in National level rover race competition events. He participated in SAE BAJA, a national level automobile design competition. He made contributions in designing roll cage, braking and suspension mechanism in a vehicle which performed successfully in the competition.
He joined Bharat Dynamics Limited as an apprentice after his Bachelor’s and worked on designing of cutting tools on AutoCAD and CATIA V5 platform. Then joined Reliance Fire and Safety limited as a Mechanical Engineer and worked on piping systems developing all standard designs for fire protection systems.
He likes travelling, driving, playing tennis and video games, watching movies, cooking, and learning new technologies related to future.
