Kalyan Ande is the winner of Overall Controls Freak of the July 17th Pontiac Class! He has excellent communication skills and has an unique way of expressing his thoughts and doubts very clearly, characteristic that let him be a leader for his teammates. During the 6 week course, students are expected to perform in the areas of Quality Workmanship, Desire to Improve Quality, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Conflict Resolution, Teamwork, and Initiative. The OVERALL student is selected by the class to lead as the Manager during Week 6. Congratulations Kalyan!
Kalyan received his Master’s in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in embedded control systems and communication systems from the University of Missouri Kansas City and his Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communications from CVSR.
As a kid, he was always interested to know how electronic devices worked. His keen interest led him to disassemble video game simulators and explore the chips inside. This growing curiosity triggered his fascination, so he chose engineering as his Bachelor’s degree. The rapid advances in technology, especially in the areas of control systems, kindled an interest in him to pursue his Master’s in control systems.
Kalyan served as an Intern at Keerthi Industries Ltd. where he worked on automotive control systems to enhance safety and comfort and reduce fuel consumption and emissions. He also designed a CAN based digital driving system using different nodes for calculating the amount of the fuel and speed needed for the car with CAN bus as a communication medium.
Apart from academics, he obtained several certificates and medals at the college and university level, in sports, quiz’s and presentations. He likes to play outdoor games like badminton and volleyball.
