Dinesh Kumar Subramaniyan is the winner of the LHPU Yellow Jersey for the Pontiac gasoline class. He is dedicated and has an enthusiasm to learn new concepts. He has strong knowledge on embedded control systems and calibration techniques. He is a good team player and communicates effectively with team members to solve engineering problems. He is also skilled at convincing people of his ideas. Congratulations Dinesh!
Dinesh Kumar received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hartford and proceeded to LHPU to learn embedded control strategies that are used in the automotive industry.
During his Bachelor’s he created a pentathlon robot which can sprint, lift weight, climb stairs, hit a golf ball and throw a tennis ball. He designed the robot using SolidWorks and used Arduino platform to control different functions of the robot. Dinesh has a patent on “3D printed monoblock pump” which pumps water from one area to another. He also published a paper on the project comparing the conventional pump to the 3D printed pump.
Dinesh performed various vibrational testing on a printer circuit board (PCB) using LabView. He tested the vibration of the PCB using his logic on a mechanical shaker. He formulated the equation for fatigued failure of the PCB. He was also on the Formula SAE race team for two years as an Engine and Transmission Line Integration Engineer.
His hobbies are buying drones and integrating more functionality to the existing code.
